He's saying that the beam appears to be a constant beam from A to B, not a bolt that travels. You're the one who's not getting it.

No, you're not getting it. If you put a frickin pause in the frickin beam, there appears to be a frickin break in the beam, making there appear to be two beams, if your eyes could register that break.

And that is the exact point, it DOES NOT APPEAR THAT THE BEAM BREAKS, IT APPEARS THAT IT STOPS, THEN RESUMES.
Stop arguing because you can't win as much as you want to.

Breaks, stops, same thing honestly. If your eyes had to ability to see light moving slowly, the separate beams could be seen.

But isn't the point here that our eyes CAN'T see light moving at slow speeds?

What does it matter, anyway? It doesn't matter what type of gun a species uses, or whether it fires pulses or is continuos. Any major conflict will still end the same way, whether or not one side has slightly better weapons than the other.

Razon is just proving what he was saying earlier, he just argues to prove people wrong, it doesn't mean that the points he makes have to be VALID.

Or maybe because it's you I was arguing with.
Anyway, yes/no to technobabble.

I do want to make this final statement on my opinion on this issue.
I don't care about the science, I care about the story.
If you can get the facts straight, kudos to you. But I want this to be a story-telling effort. Not some dull, textbook documentary about some made up animals. Even I fell I haven't challenged the limits of my creativity enough, as a story-teller.
I commend those that make the effort to try to entertain people as they describe their creatures, both in an amusing, or dramatic manner.

As I said, it can go for as long as it wants. SO SHUT UP! You could not possibly make an argument any more boring or pointless! Nooo, if I was a mod I could threaten you with my authority, but blah blah blah rant rave!
Anyways, yeah, directed-energy weapons are crazy awesome.
