Can we just ban crazen?
A laser does not have to be a "sustained beam". A laser can fire for a millisecond, pause, and fire for another millisecond. The effect, if you could see light traveling, is there would appear to be two bolt-like sections of laser fire.
And I happen to like most of the Star Wars movies. It's also kind of hard to insult something when you write like you're some illiterate fool.

He could try to write properly, and maybe keep some of his moron comments to himself. I like my eyes intact, and he continues to rip them out.

And that isn't a moronic comment right there?

Actually, no. Things like saying a laser is a laser and that a laser is a sustained beam are.

technically, a laser IS a sustained beam of light. If it was firing of bolts of light (which they DON'T DO) then it wouldn't really be what we think of as a laser.
And plus, turbolasers in Star Wars AREN'T LASERS, THEY'RE A TYPE OF PLASMA /nerdrage

Again, the fire-pause-fire results in a separation that isn't a "sustained beam." Maybe a laser wanted to cool before continuing the fire, I don't know, I'm just trying to prove you guys wrong.

Really? I think that you could get what people mean by a "sustained beam". I.E. A beam sustained for a long period of time rather than short blasts. Do you just argue to argue? I'm just trying to prove you guys wrong. This explains SO much.

To be technical, a laser is sustained, rather then a simple blast of photons.

I'm saying you can have a pause, giving the impression of separate beams instead of a continuous beam. That is possible.

Yeah, but its generally considered that a firing that lasts a few seconds is "sustained".

A laser can go for as long as it wants, so everybody just shut up.

This is what I meant: A laser is a beam, and does not appear like a bullet, no matter how long it shoots for.

You're not getting it. You can pause the firing sequence, creating two seemingly separate beams. I'm about tired of this argument though.
