Weapon TechnologyRail Weapons - One of the most commonly used weapons in the modern day Galdeen Coalition is the railgun. Its built to last and powerful. For Galdeen Army troopers, the Type 5 railgun is a Galdeen's best friend. Has a large magazine, good range, and lightweight. Larger versions are mounted on tanks and Mark 1 starships. The Mark 2s possess a entirely different type, called rail cannons. Shoots faster, more kinetic force and specialized ammunition like armor piercing (AP) rounds and the more recent shield piercing (SP) rounds. Missiles - The oldest weapon type the Galdeen still in use. Missiles are used just as much as railguns are. Can use other weapon types via warheads. Nuclear and Fusion weapons - Some of the most dangerous weapons, nuclear weapons are used only as a sort of smoke screen in space and to make enemy plasma weapons ineffective. Fusion weapons are in more use, its used as the primary weapon in starship missile launchers. Very damaging and used only as a anti-ship weapon. PAC/Lance Weapon - Particle Accelerator Cannons and Lance Cannons are basically the one and the same. Lance cannons are a nickname used by captains because when a PAC shoots, its like a lance. Its only mounted on Mark 2 ships or planet-side defense cannons because of the amount of power it requires, but that doesn't mean its not effective. Plans for a smaller, more energy efficient PAC weapons are under way, but won't be done in quiet a while. PAC weapons are also a useful planetary defense weapon because its able to take out landing invasion transports quickly.

Mark 1 Type 1 - Obsolete, standard template for all Mark 1 ships
Mark 1 Type 2 - Obsolete, improved from last Type
Mark 1 Type 3 - In use, standard destroyer type, constantly improved design, armed with railguns, point defense guns, and a single missile launcher
Mark 1 Type 4 - In use, missile destroyer type, constantly improved design, armed with mostly missile launchers, smaller amounts of railguns, standard amount of point defense guns
Mark 1 Type 5 - In use, colony ship type, middle section replaced with zero gravity cylinder section filled with cryo pods, few point defense guns
Mark 1 Type 6 - In use, survey ship type, fin section equipped with many sensor types, only two railguns, few point defense guns
Mark 1 Type 7 - In use, civilian type, highly customizable with many different modules and parts of non-military design
Mark 1 Type 8 - In use, cargo or escort carrier type, middle section extended to allow a larger cargo hold or a larger hanger bay, ship's overall mass 1/3 bigger than previous types
Mark 2 starships
Mark 1 Type 1 - In use, battleship type, heavily armored and shielded, armed with several torpedoes and PACs, multiple rail cannons, and many point defense guns and railguns
Mark 1 Type 2 - In use, carrier type, less armored, but more heavily shielded, houses hundreds of fighters and bombers, armed with many railguns and point defense guns
Mark 1 Type 3 - In use, large transport type, heavily armored, but less shielded, has room to carry a army for invasions along with a number of dropships to get them to a planet's surface, armed with few railguns and many point defense guns ---------------------------------------------- I haven't updated in a while. In fact, I just realized people why no body was posting at the other kosmosis site. XD

Warp Drive
------------------------------------------ Note: If no one minds, I'm going to use the Star Trek warp designations, e.i. Warp 1, Warp 2, Warp 3, etc ------------------------------------------
Ever since the first successful warp drive test in 1155 AGW, the drive has adopted wide-spread use, even more so when a more efficient way to produce it was made. When the S.S. Explorer first tested the drive, it went at Warp 1.2. Modern day ships can go up to Warp 7.6.
For missions that will take months to get there, a specialized Mark 1 ship can carry a inactive Warp Gate that when detached and deployed, will connect to the rest of the Gate network in Galdeen space. When a ship goes through a Warp Gate, it can turn what would be a weeks long trip using a warp drive to a matter of hours, depending on how far away the destination is. Though its fast, the time it takes for a gate to be constructed is longer then it takes to build two Mark 2 Type 2 carriers, which takes four-and-a-half months.

I need a expert's thoughts about a mostly unused battle tactic that I may add to my race's Combat section.

What would this tactic happen to be?

Ok, imagine a Galdeen missile destroyer heading toward a battle in-system at nearly the speed of light using it's warp drive. When its in range, it fires a modified missile that can withstand the speed it its going outside of the warp field and it hits a enemy ship, breaking the ship in half because of the sheer amount of kinetic energy it had.
I got the idea from a military science-fiction book I read a while ago. The book called it near-c impactors or something close to it, though I doubt it was a missile. According to the book, a impactor or several broke through a multi-kilometer ship's shields when it hit and caused a large amount of hull damage, forcing it to retreat. I was wondering if I used it, people might considered it god-modding or something.

If you can explain it, I don't see any problem not to add it.
There are some drawbacks with this, however, like if it hits a planet, a lot of collateral damage will occur, or if you happen to have already launched it, it becomes pretty much unstoppable by physical means.
The latter case means that if you happen to have targeted an ally by mistake, they're pretty much dead.

Well, two things our races have, but those in the book didn't is FTL communications and long-range scanners. They use regular radios and thermal sensors and the range for that isn't much compared to ours and I'm aware of what happens when a impactor hits a planet.

Army TypesInfrantryArmy Trooper - The standard trooper for the Galdeen Combined Army. They are equipped with a standard-issue Type-5 railgun, a standard-issue Type-7 revolver, Type-3 armor, and three fragmentation grenades and a single EMP grenade. Marine - One up from a Army Trooper. These are the vanguard of a army and are the ones who form the beachheads of a planetary invasion. They are equipped with a Type-5 railgun, a Type-1 particle accelerator cannon, Type-2 powered assault armor with a experimental personal shield generator, a silenced Type-7 revolver, three fragmentation grenades, and two EMP grenades. (If you didn't know by now, these guys gets all the new toys from the R&D section of the Military High Command) Recon Drone - Basically what name says, it can cycle through multiple different vision modes as well as using radar to observe enemy formations. It is unarmed and carries a thermite self-destruct package in it to prevent capture and reverse-engineering by less-advance races. VehiclesCentaur-class light tank - A light tank that doubles as a APC. It can carry a full squad of eight troopers. Basic info is in the image. Warlord-class heavy tank - A heavy tank with extra weapons equipped, the tank's rail cannon is the same type of cannon used on starships, difference is that the tank doesn't use shells designed to penetrate starship-grade armor. The Warlord is also equipped with armor-piercing missile launchers. WalkersType-3 MCV - The MCV is the command center for any field commander, complete with tactical holographic map table and with the power of the walker's fusion reactor is able to send subspace messages to anywhere within the local system. It is armed with four Type-3 heavy railguns. The Type-3 has heighten corridors to allow some of the taller allies the Galdeen have. A new feature the Type-3 MCV has is that it is able to "lay down" to allow personal to board and exit without the use of a dock. Type-3B Minotaur - The Minotaur contains many of the same features the MCV has except interplanetary comms, but can still function as a command vehicle. The Minotaur is armed with a extra nose mounted heavy railgun, two rail cannons, and four laser point defense arrays. Type-2 Titan Command Platform - A master piece of Galdeen technology, this air ship is perfect for a general of a invasion force. Able to command operations across multiple theaters of war in a local system. Highly mobile with its anti-gravity generators. Armed with six anti-air heavy railguns, four rail cannons against any other possible airships and large ground targets, and eight point defense lasers arrays. The Titan is powerful enough to take on anything short of a large air attack or a starship.
I'm finally DONE with it! YES! Can't wait to use these things!

I see. So that's why they looked so familiar. In any case, those units will make for some pretty nice character-driven RPing!

I was thinking of the taller devex when I included the heighten corridors. Who knows how big people are going to make their races.
EDIT: I updated it.

Not to mention the Dageel in case they want to move upright. Also... Walkers FTW! ;D I'm totally getting that "2012 Arkship" feeling right now.

I was thinking Battlefield 2142 Titan when I made this. The design is based on it more like it.
