PHOTOS MILITARY TRAINING: The Photos military forces are trained on planets designated Academies. These are dedicated to training the Photos army in basic combat and technology skills, such as hand to hand combat and vehicle operation. BASIC TRAINING: YEAR 1 Photos soldiers go through a whole year of basic training, prepairing them for, and giving them a mastery, of almost all combat tactics and weapon handling. It teaches them to think on their feet. ADVANCED TRAINING: Years 2-8 This trains Photos in the more advanced tactics and weaponry. It teaches them to interface with "alien" technology, almost all known environments, including Zero-G, and teaches them the last few things they need to stay alive on the ferocious battlfields of the modern galaxy, when they may arrise. THE AKAZI'NUSHASI (BONDING CEREMONY): Upon completing their training, each Photos squad, 5 Photos will undertake a bonding ceremony, called the Akazi'nushasi. This is done in a secluded spot called an Akazi'anasha, or "Bonding Plain". The roots of the Akazi'nushasi lie milennia ago, in the time when the Photos were mere scattered tribes. Hunters would penetrate their skin with a special knive, and let a few drops of blood drip onto the ground near their kill. They believed that this was a way of thanking the planet, and their god, for their fortune. It is always an even number of drops, as for this ritual, uneven numbers are thought as unholy. It has translated, thousands of years later, into the Akazi'nushasi. However, it is a bit different. The squad travels to the Akazi'anasha, and lights the central fire. There are log, carved into seats, nearby, in a circle. The group will sit in this ring of seats, and place an Akazi'plaka (if you can't tell, Akazi means bonding in Photise.) and each will remove the right or left gauntlet and glove from their armour. They will draw the Akazi'kuoso, or "bonding knife", and prick the skin, just deep enough to draw a few drops of blood, and let an even number of drops of blood fall into the container, all an equal number from each one, while chanting a special poem-type chant, which translates into English as such; "Let the Creator bind us high! Forge our bonds forever, lest we perish alone. Unite us, as unity is the light shining forth from the darkness! Connect us, for where one would die, we all shall rise. Seal us, fuse us strong for all life! Let the Creator bind us high!" After this is done, they carry the Akazi'plaka to the fire, and pour the squad's combined blood into the fire. As it all burns as one, the squad is considered "bonded". This is why Photos soldiers think so much of each other, and is why they have a near-unbreakable morale. A bonded squad is like a group of 5 brothers.

Well, It's just every other creature has had some response to it, I'm just sitting here ignored. Not a single person has had interest in close to a week.

Well, and I don't mean any offense, but all you have up is a few paragraphs on them, almost all of which is military, no picture, and they're humanoid. I know you like to to be creative with their military, which is fine even though I personally have no interest in it, but some other stuff along with a unique organism(again, personal preference), and I have no doubts you'll start getting more comments. Anyway, you have more than me.

These guys seem to be/have turned into a pretty military-centric race, so it's natural that he would have focused on military.

Don't be surprised if your creatures don't get commented on. You've been a bit spoiled since we have a group that is very active in commenting on other people's creations.
Back when I was a youngster, no one really commented on my creatures, nor anyone else. You would really just post relevant information and then move on. Really, Creation Corner was the only place where is was truly acceptable to more than double-post.
So don't be downhearted if no one has commented on your creatures. But don't go fishing for comments either. That doesn't help.

THE AKAZI'NUSHASI (BONDING CEREMONY): -details- Nothing like fighting side by side with your brethren. Behind all those railguns and heavy-duty power armor, a Photos' bond is their real power!

PHOTOS POWER ARMOUR Photos soldiers are equipped with high-strength power armour as standard equipment. It has 11 components, most of which are a pair. They are listed in order from head to feet.
HELMET: The standard helmet is connected to the Photos soldier with a neural "jack", or wire. In more recent versions, the helmet interfaces wirelessly. It has no visor, rather two color, high-definition cameras with multiple lenses for various lenses with an "Optix" zoom system, arranged one above the other on the center of the front of the helmet. Mounted on the right side is an antenna for communications, though it is steadily getting smaller, slowly getting replaced. When "jacked" into the helmet, the Photos sees through these, not his eyes. It provides good armour protection; a current model 50-caliber sniper round would most likely do nothing more then dent it.
CHEST PLATE: The second largest armour piece on the suit, the chest plate covers the upper chest plate, down to about the end of the lungs. It provides the the most armour protection of the whole suit, being the thickest. It also has a slot on the back for attaching a backpack or other back-mounted device such as a plasma generator for large weapons, or an ammo container for an infantry autocannon.
SHOULDER PAULDERONS: The shoulder paulderons of Photos Armour have a 360 degree range of rotation upwards, and have slits for the arms, so that they can move outwards. In short, they provide protection similar to the chest plate without hindering range of motion.
UPPER ARM ARMOUR: The upper arm armour extends from the chest plate down to the elbow. It isn't the thickest, but is still very good protection.
LOWER ARM ARMOUR: The lower arm armour is the same as below, except it is for the length of arm extending from the elbow to the hand.
ABDOMINAL PLATE: The lower chest plate, or abdominal plate, has a series of hinges that allow the soldier to bend over and such. It is larger than the chest plate, but it's protection is less.
TORSO ARMOURS: Surrounding the hip area, the torso armour has two hip joints that allow free movement of the legs.
UPPER LEG ARMOUR: The armour that covers the upper leg area, extending to the knee. It provides, like the arm armour, moderate protection.
LOWER LEG ARMOUR: Same as the upper leg armour, except is covers the lower leg, from the knee to the foot.
FOOT ARMOUR (BOOT): The foot armour is made of an armoured rubber-like material, allowing it to bend, but still take a respectable ammount of damage.
All the armour joints (hips, knees, shoulders, ankles, wrists, and elbows) except for the neck have actuators in them that augment the speed and strength of the user.

Government The Photos have a democratic government, but rather than a president and attached counter-balances, the "High Council" funcions as a similar body, but the five members serve to counter any one Councilman from becoming too powerful. The High Council is the highest position in Photos soceity, and the collection of elders is highly respected.

I've always been fond of councils. It gives the government that sense of much needed balance, since no one is actually superior to everyone.

Common life for a typical Photos is good, by our human standards. Their living system is government-aided, as they put it. They are given a place to live by the government, and a job. Of course, if they are able to afford a better place to live than the government-given housing, they can by all means move up. Same applies for jobs, while the governent will employ them, they are able to move onto a better paying job. While it is somewhat off-topic, another matter of urban life are the working drones. The Photos use robots called Drones for military and urban tasks, such as construction. The AI Drones use is very advanced. The many Drone types all think, and even have emotions, that lie in their programming. They have a somewhat awkward existance, as they know they are machines, and aren't organic, but still think and feel as if they were living organisms. They are treated in Photos soceity with the same respect and dignity as another Photos. So, you have a double-populous, with both a living and mechanical population.

Kinda-like in AstroBoy, but minus the somewhat robophobic human police officers? Sweet!
