Sweet!
So the person's basically a hybrid now?
I hope these people's government isn't too hostile to alien creatures.

Well, it isn't a hybrid, since thier genetic codes aren't merged. More like a symbiote. The Tunmu use energy from the host, but can apply thier more advanced ability to heal far faster than the host's own cells can, functioning like a built-in hospital.

I'm currently have to decide whether or not to make a creature thread for these planet-dwellers.

The creature's colony must have been in it's very early stages or not there at all when the Tunmu landed though.

It's not a colony, it's their homeworld, the other creature, that is.

I'm currently have to decide whether or not to make a creature thread for these planet-dwellers. I'd say go for it. It's always nice to have some Earth-level (or at least I think they are) species in the galaxy.

The question is whether or not the Tunmu end up eating them all. So really, it has to wait until the end of the story.

I think its safe to say that diplomacy has failed.

And that, to the Drazu, the visitors shall be known as Derean the Great!

FUBAR indeed.
I wonder if the collective ever plans on recruiting some of the more reasonable drazu, especially the ones that are very into enlightenment-ish stuff.

If I may ask a question, I'm guessing the Tunmu will use the hybrid Drazu as ambassadors to our empires when they get into space (again).

That's the idea. Thus the removal of "Communicating with the Tunmu." I don't intend for the Hive to be able to even begin to understand language now, so the Drazu take the position of speakers. It'll probably seem like the Drazu even lead the Tunmu to most species, until they figure out that they're not the masters of the Tunmu. The Tunmu will still have communication issues, of course, as developing translator technology isn't exactly an interest they have. The best remedy will still be allowing a few expendables or religious fanatics who worship the Tunmu to be hybridized. The allure of immortality can probably stir up a solid movement, after all. At least, that's the idea.
