I think it might be cool to make a list of Ruins and Artifacts that are scattered around the galaxy. These things can be found in RPs and would have a history behind them.
For instance I was thinking maybe some old Gaming Steve races could have Ruins and Artifacts left behind from them. For instance maybe a Naucean artifact or Kazea ruins.
What do you guys think?

Though this is supposed to be a clean slate, I dont think that would hurt. I could have the tenets of the graid encarved in stone, scattered about.
I just dont see how it would do anything or make for interesting story telling
Anyway, the old creatures are assumed not to have existed (or exist currently, if their being used).

Well, I was pretty set on a re-imagining or reinterpretation of the GS history, than to make this a future version of the old GS galaxy.
I have no qualms of using old creatures from GS, but you either have to take control of them and retell their history, or give them a new one. Sort of like a parallel universe, with alternate versions of the same creatures.
You either have to get a hold of Huggs to see if he wants to join, or see if he will give you permission to use his creature and bring it into the Kosmosis universe.
And as Crazen said, they need to be currently active and existing, or not exist in the past at all.

That doesn't mean we can't have artifacts from some really ancient civilizations though, I would think. I have no real stance on the matter, except that artifacts and ruins seem integral to practically every Sci-Fi thing.

Although that poses the question of exactly what left them there, and whether we should leave it vague. I suppose the best option would be to create them as needed for plot purposes. Not pulling them out of nowhere in the middle of an RP, though, and using them to fire "ultimat lazorz", but more as set pieces and perhaps objects of interest.

I wouldn't mind having artifacts and relics that were part of the central plot, but I must say that I am against them being remnants from old civilizations from the GS galaxy. This is meant to be a clean split, and there shouldn't be any hint or reference to the old galaxies.
We already tried this with the One Million Years Later (OMYL), and that didn't seem to work out too well.

So lets say its ten trillion years later, in a different galaxy, in a parallel universe.

But then that poses the question of how the hell they got there.
Unless your point was that they would be non-GS artifacts.

Trillion is a large number.
Anyway, I specifically do not believe in absolutely any GS-related artifacts. We might have artifacts from civilizations that had existed in this universe, but I don't think any of them should be connected with GS. We've already got enough of a connection to that universe, with the allowed creature copies.

My opinion? The artifacts cannot come from spacefaring civilzations. That's about it, really. That prevents ULTIMATE LAZORS right there.
