I guess I'll start by explaining my plans for this thread and this forum in general. As I've done in the past, I plan on having multiple races to fit different archetypes as needed. You might recognize some of the creatures, but my goal is to move the focus to those that I haven't used much, or that haven't made it to our forums at all. I might not go into as much detail on any one race as some others will, but I will try to give details that I think are interesting.
(I've decided that having an intro post with little information, then links to important entries is a great way to organize this, especially with multiple races. Those links will go here)

Right then, without further ado I'd like to introduce the Dageel. A young adult Dageel (I wish I could draw) The Dageels are an aquatic race that live on a planet with almost no land mass. They live mostly in shallow seas, around their equivalents of reefs and seaweed beds. Dageels continue to grow throughout their lives, at a rate of about half a foot a year. As they grow in length they also grow additional limbs. The individual pictured above is about 25 years old. He has one set of fully formed limbs and two incomplete sets. In a few years what appear now to be fins will elongate and branch at the end to form other limbs. These changes in body structure mean that younger individuals swim horizontally like an earth sea snake, while older individuals tend to paddle or pull themselves along by gripping the sea floor or other protrusions.

Cool! The first aquatic species here (I think...).
But I have a question: Since they grow new limbs during their entire lifetime, do they regrow lost limbs too?

Hmm... I'm going to say yes, but slowly. They do stop growing limbs eventually, I'll be getting to that.

Can they reach a thousand years old? Cause that would be rather awesome.
And I assume their limbs are primarily controlled by the spinal cord? Having too many limbs being directly controlled by the brain would be disastrous to a race that grows a new pair every 25 years.

Yuu makes an excellent point. And do they grow limbs continuously or do they only grow those three sets?
Also, I bump for more updates! ;D
