Index Introduction IntroductionPsydex (Cordyceps sapien) Home Planet: Gunbu Size: Varies by Host Species Diet: Parasitic (Feeds off Host) Reproduction: Asexual, Spores The psydex are a fungi-like species that take over the neurological systems of other species. They are parasitic and need a host to live. Once a spore infect a host they cannot leave the host and it become their body for as long as the host lives. This means that hosts with longer lifespans are preferred. Psydexs typically infect juvenile hosts in order to get the longest lifespan and so the host can better adjust to parasite inside. Each psydex must grow up learning how to move with those host body they were born into. Depending upon the host determines the life the psydex will live. Those born into species without manipulating appendages or ways to talk have a great disadvantage over those who do. It is not uncommon for psydex to "domesticate" breeds of hosts for their offspring to be born into. In fact some of the most powerful psydexs are born into prime specimen hosts. While they do take advantage of the host's neurological system, they keep much of their intelligence in the fungi-like tendrils which spread throughout the host's body. This means that non-sapient species can be infected and it will still retain its psydex level of intelligence.

That doesn't really matter. So long as at least tries to be different I'd think it's fine.

So do they have host "Farms"? It would be cool to see some of the species they control.
