And a very interesting history it is! For some reason it reminded me of Rome and the barbarians, but I like how they actually had Queens rather than a male-dominated society.

It's actually really nice to see I hit the intended nail on the head there Josasa.

Which one? The comparison to Rome or the lack of sexism? Or both?

Both, really. To be honest, I considered starting the timeline back even further, I mean like real Sumerian screwing around, but then I'd be here all month to get up to the cool Social revolution and Military Restructuring bits.

Ah, well good choice. Everyone knows the revolutions and reformations are the best parts anyway.

Galactic Policy
In the Space Age, the Asolue goverment is manafested in the Asolue Coalition of Colonies. While on the homeworld, the nations may be divided and begrundgingly at peace, on the galactic front they maintain a strong sense of unity, in the face of the "Unknown threats". The Coalition's biggest fear is not of it's known enemies, but of the undiscovered, the unknown; a possible throwback to their early history where it was unknown whether the next stretch of lush jungle was theirs for the taking or the scouting line of a hostile empire.
The Asolue colonisation policy has always been aggressive, keeping strong supply lines and frequently pushing colonisation efforts further. Despite this, the Coalition's joint military rarely defends much further than the 2nd or 3rd generation colonies, with anything further being defended by the "Asolue Coalition Alien Legion", a popular and higher paying corps of non-Asolue mercanaries paid to protect the outer colonies.

Aggressive Expansion, huh. Other empires won't really like that if it's their space thats in the way, but what about diplomacy? How do they conduct their first contacts?

As for first contacts, high caution, wait for them to respond to Asolue presense, then act either with much haste to make diplomatic relations or act without mercy and show their strength. They don't mind other races trying to make trade links or anything, but they make it clear that they do not enjoy being screwed about with.
