Xah Devex xhel xah Xor
"The Servants of the Light" The Devex xhel xah Xor, or "[The] Servant of the Light", are a race of polymorphous trans-biological beings originating from their extensively cyber-formed home planet of Xedah, meaning "Field".
The Devex, for reasons all their own, possess a primarily isolationist stance, refraining from straying too far away from their local sphere of influence, located in the outermost reaches of Xah Xeniah xhel Xor, or "The Slumber of Light", their local name for the galaxy. In line with this, they have never overtly encountered any of the other residents of the galaxy, though they are fully aware of their existence.
Nobody save for the Devex know the true value of their name's etymology, or even if it is really their original name. Even so, one can still quickly surmise that it has something to do with their cosmological beliefs, at the very least.
Almost everything about the Devex's past, especially the origin of their race, is constantly shrouded in a thick veil of mystery. All evidence suggest that this is a deliberate act on their part. As for what reasons, only time can tell...

Ooooh... I'm thoroughly interested. Nothing like an artificial lifeform to get one excited.
But how does their military have such a wide Tech level range?

I hope not really magic. Technobabble and unobtanium I can handle, but not magic. Unless it's suffiently advanced technology that was thought to be magic, now is recognised as technology again.
Unless I've misunderstood how you used the trope.

Thanks, everyone! Unless it's suffiently advanced technology that was thought to be magic, now is recognised as technology again. Unless I've misunderstood how you used the trope. Hmm, after some rereading, I think I used the worng trope, sorry. >_> Here's the right one. Anyways, you pretty much hit the mark.
Update time!
General Anatomy and Physiology The Devex body is composed of two general components, the Xel, or "Core," and the Temex, or "Body." The Xel is a small spherical device which acts as the head of the Devex. It contains the individual's brain, which acts as both the seat of consciousness and the facilitator of one's field sense. It also contains the Devex' only eye, which is used both for vision and for their analogue of the sense of smell. The Xel's location varies depending on the form an individual is currently taking, though it usually lies on or near the torso and is kept in constant levitation by use of devices located in or on the Temex. The Temex, on the other hand, is a mass of differentiation-capable microscopic machines that take on the form of the Devex' body. The general layout is comprised of a torso, six main limbs, which sometimes branch out, the Xel levitation system and any additional features. The torso houses the individual's vocal apparatus, which is responsible for their ability to verbalize. It also contains the Devex' internally located sound receptors, whose numbers vary depending on the current body type employed. More tactile-oriented versions of these sensors can be found spread all throughout the surface of the Temex. Interestingly, only neuron analogues and temperature receptors are found both in the Xel and the Temex. Devex body types vary substantially. Although they are classified as polymorphic, it is important to point out that, save for some body types, most instances of metamorphoses are triggered by external-societal factors, like entering or leaving one's Xuda. The average height of a Xarab Devex ranges from 1.5 to 1.7 meters, or 5 to 5.5 feet tall, although some types can be as short as a meter or as tall as a couple hundred. The average mass of a Xarab Devex ranges from 40 to 60 kilograms, or 88 to 132 pounds. However, some types can be as light as 10 kilograms or as heavy as 100,000,000 kilograms. Density is another issue, which usually varies depending on the specific physical layout of a Xarab's Xuda. Some types even possess internal vacuum chambers which aid in reducing their overall density. Although the Devex' outermost layer appears to be extremely sleek, some types actually possess microscopic features which give them a rough, or even abrasive, quality. Some even employ patterns that redirect the flow of light. The color of the Devex' outermost layer is determined by which portions of the electromagnetic spectrum are absorbed, refracted or reflected. This usually results in metallic shades of grey, though there are some types which employ other color schemes.

This trope.Though, of course not all my guys are techno-magi. The Viri Voltei are, aside from some as of yet unfixed holes in the ecosystem and their somewhat very primitive FTL, very hard sci-fi creatures, especially with regards to space warfare.

I'm more than a little tired of Terran-Ixian lookalikes with technology so advanced it's practically magic.

Go away, kitkat.
It's not that I don't like them, they're cool and all, it just seems like something you overdo sometimes. I just don't want more Terran-Ixians with solar system large spaceships, manipulating the fabric of space and time. I thought we were all starting with near-bare bones stuff?

That's because the Orealyianis were once under TI care and hence the cultural and technological diffusion. It's be like arguing why 1780s USA has British technology.
Then again, whatever floats your boat, Raz.
The Tunmu don't have to contact them.

Sorry. I dunno, the way things have been going, it seems every post you make is rude. But you do make a point, I think that this restart is really made to be similar to the AC, with smaller races than the RG.
