Odd. I didn't notice how many creatures were tougher than the Tunmu until this moment.

to defeat the Iavolg on a planet it would mean killing every one of them on the world. very difficult. bio weapons would rarely be effective, and explosives wouldnt work either; they would dig deeper. more on fighting them in a bit. Damn, other than orbital bombardment, I don't think my Galdeen has the numbers for that.

Yep, you can go in on foot and meticulously kill every one of them within 2 days (the time it take them to multiply; each lays about 10 eggs). fail that, and it will be harder the next time.
or you can orbital incinerate vast (depending on the extent of the spread) areas of your own planet. in this case, they win anyway. the planet has been wrecked (which is how the Iavolg conquer planets anyway), while Agnasi has had no significant losses.
If the planet is still partially viable and still has hostiles, he can just release more Iavolg to breed and spread until the entire world's surface is dismantled by them or destroyed by their enemies trying to fight them.
in any case, once the planet is uninhabitable or abandoned, Agnasi will return with his main ship (no, he doesn't keep it there. too vulnerable to stay in one place for long) he collects the valuable resources still on the planet.
of course, if the planet was damaged enough, then it is useless to Agnasi, he can move on. again, no significant loss to him.
of note, the Name Iavolg was originally an insult among the larentili, implying that you where simply an extra in your clan and had no hope of contributing to the gene pool
the Larentili actually did pool their genes together to mate; hundreds of them could contribute to the same brood of eggs.

Thought orbital bombardment wouldn't really work. Also, why aren't bio weapons good against them? Every race has their own unique set of bio weapons, why won't they work?

Alright, and if any of us do get invaded. Its likely its going to take weeks if not months to root them out without any bio-scanners.

Well the Iavolg would get a hammered if they tried to make a planet uninhabitable to the Tunmu. Doesn't exactly work against the Tunmu, that tactic.

Notably, the population of actual Larentili is numbered around seven.
that includes Agnasi, Moataia (agnasi's Orator), and at least one more aboard Hnangha (the Iavolg home-ship). Niyames is suspected to be on their old homeworld, while a few others are scattered about in various states of being.

before their enslavement, the Larentili had a stiff, hierarchy, determined by strength (all kinds of strength, though focusing on the physical). the weaker you where, the less privileges you had. at the bottom rungs, they didn't have the privilege to talk eat with a member of a significantly higher standing. larentili royalty while many metals are scarce, or buried deep and inaccessible (until Agnasi dug them out). gold is remarkably common, but still horded by the strong (because it appears very shiny vision). they would wear it as armor and coat it across their skin. this sometimes caused health problems for the permeable skinned amphibians.

looking to improve, Agnasi phased out the crude shooter in favor of a better constructed one. they shoot hardened, fragmenting shards of their own blood Usage of blood? Very nice. Reminds me of my (a billion of years or more "extinct") species, the Zomm. They used blood to fuel much of their technology. Weaponized however, they weren't shardy - they did however use it like one of those welding "torches" that use highly pressurized water instead to cut. Also, that is the most amount of information I've ever given about the Zomm since I came up with them in 2006. o.o My Vioasenso also have a planet with tons of gold, but they, too, won't appear here (that is of course the only similarity between them and these Iavolgs...other than the fact that they, too, were created in Spore).

Reminds me of ancient royalty and their bronze vessels/utensils/etc.

odd coincidence: the Ashanti, one of the first people to have Anansi (and those other animals) as a god, liked to wear gold. alot.

Wait, did they get horribly poisoned too, like the nobles of ancient China, but with gold-fetishes instead of bronze? Thank goodness medicine managed to catch up, eh?
